Gluten-Free Eats in Lake George: 6 Must-Try Spots
Are you planning an upstate New York getaway to dreamy Lake George? Bookmark these restaurants that offer gluten-free dining.
Lake George is a popular vacation destination in upstate New York, particularly from Memorial day through the summer season (though leaf peeping is popular as well). One of the best parts about vacationing here is all of the amazing eateries that are within walking distance from the lake and popular hotels, motels, and resorts. If you dine gluten-free, these eateries offer some scrumptious bites that will make your foodie heart happy throughout your vacation.

The Most Important (Gluten-Free) Meal of the Day
You’re on lake time, so be sure to allow yourself to sleep in! However, once it’s time to start your day, it’s best to find a nice hearty breakfast so you can enjoy all you have planned.
Biscotti Brothers Cafe
Must-try: the short stack of pancakes
Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes! If you’re a pancake lover, you have to get the gluten-free pancake option at Biscotti Brothers Cafe. Theses pancakes are out of this world, with a light, fluffy texture and sweet flavor. Add fresh banana, strawberry, or blueberry to either a short stack or full stack of pancakes to take the dish up a notch. I was informed that the gluten-free pancakes are cooked in a totally separate location than other gluten-containing foods, which is good to note for those with celiac or who are worried about cross-contamination. The eatery also offers gluten-free Belgian waffles and has gluten-free buns available to be substituted on a variety of dishes.
For those looking for a caffeine fix (and who aren’t coffee drinkers), Cafe Vero and Lake George Coffee Company offer gluten-free chai lattes, as well as oat milk that is gluten-free. Cafe Vero brews their own, and it is my favorite, with strong notes of cinnamon, ginger, and other spices.

A Laid-Back Lake George Lunch, Hold the Gluten
In Lake George, there a number of grab-and-go dining options for lunch if you’re on the move during the day. Or, take a break at a location with outdoor seating.
Lighthouse Grill
Order the: Lighthouse Tacos
On a warm day, sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake is ideal for lunch. Items on the menu are marked as GS, or gluten-sensitive (be sure to check with your server about cross-contamination). The Lighthouse Tacos can be made gluten-free, substituting a flour tortilla for a hard corn shell. I personally would’ve preferred if they used soft-shell corn tortillas for this dish. The order comes with three tacos, filled with a delicious combination of fresh pineapple salsa, avocado, and a squeeze of lime. You have the option to choose chicken (which is what I did), mushroom, steak, or shrimp as your protein.
Monte Cristos
During my stay, I actual ate breakfast at this location, ordering two eggs over easy and breakfast potatoes (which I was informed were gluten-free). They have plenty of outdoor seating as well. When I was there, I saw there were a variety of gluten-free options on the lunch menu, so I would’ve loved to come back here for lunch.
Dinner After a Long Day (Sans Gluten, Please!)
After a jam-packed day at the lake, all you want is a nice cocktail and a filling dinner. There are so many options for evening dining in Lake George.
Log Jam Restaurant
Dig into the: shrimp cocktail and sirloin
This eatery is a Lake George icon. Just a short drive away from the village, the restaurant is located at the Lake George outlets. For starters, the salad bar comes with a dinner meal, and there are plenty of gluten-free options for a simple salad. The shrimp cocktail is also gluten-free, and comes with four jumbo-sized shrimp. Steamed little neck clams is another option for an appetizer! Lobster tail, crab legs, and steak options are gluten-free. I ordered the 9oz sirloin with a baked potato on the side. The steak was perfectly medium-rare—tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
Lake George Beach Club
You have to have: the seafood scampi
This is the spot to go for drinks, dinner, and nightlife. Not to mention it looks right out on the lake with a large deck area for dining. The mojitos are so refreshing, and there are a variety of other cocktails on the menu to order as a meal opener. For dinner, the gluten-free seafood scampi is a must, it was absolutely the best gluten-free pasta I’ve ever eaten. The white wine sauce, mussels, shrimp, and lemon make the dish flavorful and warm. On the weekends also be on the lookout for live bands, and the eatery turns into a nightclub around 9 p.m.

Lac du Saint Sacrament Dinner Cruise
Go for the: prime rib
Romantics will absolutely adore the Saint Sacrament Dinner Cruise. Drinks, a fancy dinner, live music, and dancing come together to create a movie-level scene. As you wine and dine, you will be sailing across the lake while the sun gently sets on the horizon. For dinner, the servers are more than happy to inform you of gluten-free options at the buffet line (I dined on salad bar, potatoes, and prime rib) and are willing to make you a piece of chicken or fish sans sauce. As dessert, they offer a David’s gluten-free brownie, which you just can’t go wrong with.

For a Quick Bite
The Lemonade Parlor
The lemonade parlor serves Sabrett hotdogs, which are gluten-free. I ordered a hotdog without a bun when wanting a quick bite. Additionally, they squeeze their lemonade fresh (no suspicious ingredients). For flavored lemonades, they use Reàl Infused Exotics, which are gluten-free! Strawberry or blueberry lemonade is the perfect sweet treat!

Hope you found this helpful, enjoy your getaway to Lake George!
